Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients’ functional capabilities and home settings to determine their needs and safety issues.

• Create individualized treatment plans and effectively communicate them to physicians and the healthcare team.

• Educate and assist patients in regaining daily living skills impacted by illness or injury.

• Suggest and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.

• Keep precise clinical records and promptly notify changes in patient status.

• Collaborate with the broader healthcare team to deliver seamless, patient-focused care.

• Inform family members and caregivers about the patient’s treatment strategy.

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide care when OT is the exclusive skilled service.

• Facilitate discharge planning as patients transition from home health care.

• Perform additional duties as needed to support patient services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Possess an active California Occupational Therapy license.

• At least 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience.

• Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.

• Valid driver’s license, a reliable insured vehicle, and the willingness to travel to patient residences.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
