Observability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Assist in the setup and maintenance of monitoring tools for cloud environments.

• Collaborate in the creation and refinement of dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Participate in identifying critical incidents on the platform, escalating to Senior Engineers or the product development team.

• Execute basic operational tasks in development, testing, and production environments.

• Work together to automate routine tasks using scripts in Bash or Python.

• Learn and contribute to internal projects focused on continuous improvement in monitoring and observability.


⛳️ Requirements

• Professional training in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, or related fields.

• Experience in software development (Python).

• Experience in configuring and supporting monitoring tools for distributed applications, preferably in Kubernetes-based environments.

• Advanced Python: 2-3 years of experience in software development using Python.

• Knowledge of data structures, OOP, computational complexity, design patterns, and concurrency.

• Intermediate Linux: Basic commands, file manipulation, networking, etc.

• Experience with Shell scripting (Bash).

• Automation (scripting) using Bash and/or Python.

• Basic Monitoring: Monitoring of standard services.

• Concepts of metric management, log management concepts, definition of basic alerts, and visualizations (e.g., Grafana).

• Basic Kubernetes Administration: Deployment of standard applications (Deployment, Service, and ConfigMap resources).

• Basic Git: Standard workflow with add, commit, push.

• Branch management and conflict resolution.

• Language: Intermediate English (Reading/Writing): ability to search in English.
