Observability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Assist in the setup and maintenance of monitoring tools for cloud environments.

• Collaborate in the creation and refinement of dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Engage in identifying critical incidents on the platform, escalating issues to Senior Engineers or the product development team.

• Perform basic operational tasks across development, testing, and production environments.

• Work together on automating routine tasks using Bash or Python scripts.

• Learn and contribute to internal projects focused on continuous improvement in monitoring and observability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional training in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, or related fields.

• Experience in software development (Python).

• Familiarity with configuring and supporting monitoring tools for distributed applications, preferably in Kubernetes-based environments.

• Advanced Python skills with 2-3 years of software development experience.

• Understanding of data structures, OOP, computational complexity, design patterns, and concurrency.

• Intermediate Linux skills, including basic commands, file manipulation, and networking.

• Experience with Shell scripting (Bash).

• Automation (scripting) experience with Bash and/or Python.

• Basic monitoring of standard services.

• Knowledge of metric management concepts, log management concepts, basic alert definitions, and visualizations (e.g., Grafana).

• Basic Kubernetes administration, including deployment of standard applications (Deployment, Service, and ConfigMap resources).

• Basic Git proficiency, including normal workflow with add, commit, and push.

• Branch management and conflict resolution skills.

• Language: Intermediate English (Writing/Reading): able to search in English.
