NHL Trading Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee client risk management and maximize margins on Swish products through positive expected value (EV) decisions.

• Supervise and ensure the accuracy of depth charts, making timely adjustments in both pre-match and live settings.

• Conduct live trading in real-time markets, adjusting prices as line movements, sharp betting actions, and in-game events occur.

• Manage exposure effectively during high-liquidity, fast-paced trading windows.

• Research and monitor reliable news sources to identify significant developments and assess their effects on betting markets.

• Utilize a scientific approach to analyze betting trends and convert data into measurable trading actions.

• Contribute to the development of processes, tools, and decision-making within the sports trading operation.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of proven experience in sports trading or betting.

• Extensive knowledge of sports betting, including odds creation and live in-play pricing dynamics.

• High level of proficiency in NHL trading, along with a broad understanding of other sports markets such as NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA Football/Basketball, soccer, and tennis.

• Strong skills in mathematics, statistics, and/or analysis.

• Capability to build and evaluate betting models.

• Ability to quickly calculate and convert odds/EV in real-time.

• Results-oriented work ethic aimed at enhancing processes, outcomes, and profitability.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, business analytics, or sports management/quantitative business is preferred.

• Familiarity with relational database systems (MySQL) and working knowledge of SQL is preferred.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams is desirable.

• Background in Data Science is an advantage.

• Successful completion of background and reference checks may be necessary.
