Network Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee enterprise network security solutions.

• Configure and manage firewalls from Fortinet, SonicWall, and Palo Alto.

• Establish and uphold VPNs, IPS/IDS, web filtering, NAT, ACLs, and segmentation policies.

• Monitor security events through SIEM, XDR, and SOC monitoring platforms.

• Investigate security incidents, conduct threat analysis, and assist in incident response efforts.

• Manage firewall policies, security rules, and compliance measures.

• Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and identity-based security measures.

• Support cloud security efforts across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.

• Configure and maintain SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions.

• Carry out vulnerability assessments and remediation tasks.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to enhance security for enterprise environments.

• Maintain security documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and audit logs.

• Participate in on-call rotations and manage critical incident responses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer.

• In-depth knowledge of next-generation firewalls, SIEM platforms, cloud security, Zero Trust architecture, and contemporary cybersecurity operations.

• Practical experience with Fortinet, SonicWall, Palo Alto Networks, SIEM solutions, SASE, SD-WAN, endpoint security, and threat detection technologies.

• Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, LogRhythm, ArcSight, or Elastic SIEM.

• Understanding of SOC operations, threat hunting, log correlation, MITRE ATT&CK framework, incident response, and threat intelligence integration.

• Knowledge of AWS Security, Microsoft Azure Security, hybrid cloud networking, cloud firewall management, Security Groups / NSGs, and IAM.

• Experience with EDR/XDR platforms, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, endpoint hardening, DLP, and email security solutions.

• Strong grasp of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, BGP / OSPF, DNS / DHCP, load balancing, and network troubleshooting.

• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash scripting, security automation, and SOAR platforms is preferred.

• Desired certifications include Fortinet NSE / FCP, Palo Alto PCNSA / PCNSE, CCNP Security, CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC Certifications, and AWS Security Specialty.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
