This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Design, develop, and maintain IP/MPLS core network solutions.
• Evaluate and validate new technologies and architectures within lab settings.
• Create engineering plans, cost estimates, and installation packages.
• Offer escalation and troubleshooting assistance for network operations teams.
• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure a dependable, scalable, and high-performing network.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a carrier Ethernet or large ISP setting.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking and network engineering principles.
• Practical experience with routers and switches (Nokia/Alcatel).
• In-depth understanding of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and ISIS.
• Familiarity with MPLS technologies including RSVP and LDP.
• Proficient in Layer 2 technologies like VLANs, STP, LACP, and MC-LAG.
• Capability to design networks that are scalable, highly available, and secure.
• Certifications like Nokia NRS 1 or 2 are a plus.
• Experience with data center networking and diverse transport technologies (fiber, microwave, cellular, etc.) is advantageous.
