This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead and implement technical professional services projects, ensuring the successful integration of advanced features and functionalities.
• Offer expert advice on network observability, assisting customers in designing and enhancing their infrastructure using Kentik insights.
• Actively analyze customer usage patterns and network data to discover unutilized opportunities for delivering value. You will pinpoint areas where the customer can achieve greater visibility and suggest specific features or workflows to help them meet their objectives.
• Support customers in integrating Kentik with their internal tools, systems, and workflows, employing APIs and scripting as needed.
• Conduct technical check-ins to uphold high success rates, share new features and roadmaps, and recognize new opportunities for customers to broaden their use of the platform.
• Serve as an advocate for customer needs, relaying detailed technical feedback and feature requests to the Product Management team.
• Aid in identifying opportunities to enhance technical documentation and materials to assist other customers in achieving success.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver results and ensure alignment with customer objectives.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-tech solutions engineering, professional services, or network engineering role.
• Must be based on the U.S. East Coast.
• Strong, demonstrable knowledge of network and application protocols, including Netflow, BGP, SNMP, DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP, along with their application in infrastructure design and operations.
• Proven experience in managing Cisco/Juniper routers and Linux servers.
• Familiarity with network observability or monitoring tools (e.g., Kentik, Netscout Arbor, Splunk, Dynatrace, Catchpoint, etc.).
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging in in-depth technical discussions with staff-level engineers and architects.
• Knowledge of DDoS attacks and fundamental mitigation strategies.
• A technical curiosity that drives you to continuously inquire “how” or “why” and a relentless pursuit of new knowledge and best practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to meet with customers at their offices or at industry events.
