Network Engineer

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage Dropbox’s worldwide production network encompassing datacenters, backbone, edge, and cloud networking.

• Provide operational support and on-call coverage for the production network, ensuring optimal reliability and availability.

• Lead automation projects aimed at enhancing network configuration, monitoring, and change management.

• Create and refine network telemetry and observability systems to improve visibility and reliability.

• Collaborate with global subject matter experts (SMEs), software engineers, and operations teams to deliver scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams (traffic, physical infrastructure, security) to facilitate comprehensive network initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and management of extensive production networks.

• Practical experience with datacenter, backbone, and edge networking at scale.

• Expertise in fundamental networking protocols including BGP, OSPF/ISIS, MPLS, and IPv4/IPv6.

• Solid experience working with leading networking vendors (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Arista).

• Strong background in automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, or infrastructure-as-code solutions).

• Knowledge of monitoring, observability, or telemetry systems to ensure network reliability.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities, with experience in distributed global teams.
