Principal Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Designing, constructing, and upkeeping our worldwide network infrastructure

• Developing and managing Akamai's essential network configuration templates utilizing Jinja2

• Implementing new hardware platforms and network functionalities within the automation framework

• Acting as a subject matter expert for intricate network challenges, conducting in-depth troubleshooting and analysis

• Creating and sustaining comprehensive documentation and procedures

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess 12 years of pertinent experience and hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline

• Exhibit extensive knowledge in IP network design and the implementation of scalable BGP routing architectures

• Comprehend Data Center architecture, including CLOS Fabric and overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN

• Have experience in managing and troubleshooting multi-vendor environments such as Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and routing platforms like BIRD, FRR, and Cumulus

• Possess an understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns

• Develop and oversee network configuration templates using automation tools like Python, Ansible, and Jinja2 efficiently and effectively
