Network Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Administer and provide support for Palo Alto Networks firewall platforms

• Manage and support Cisco firewall technologies

• Implement approved firewall rules, VPN configurations, NAT policies, and network segmentation requirements

• Assist in vulnerability remediation and security hardening efforts

• Participate in the investigation and resolution of security incidents

• Aid in the implementation of security controls and approved security baselines

• Provide support for Cisco switching and routing environments

• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance challenges

• Assist in network infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle management tasks

• Engage in change management processes and maintenance activities

• Conduct root cause analysis on network service incidents

• Support F5 load balancing technologies

• Maintain virtual servers, traffic management policies, SSL configurations, and application delivery services

• Collaborate with application support teams to ensure highly available services

• Apply patches, firmware updates, hotfixes, and security updates

• Perform user administration and access management tasks

• Execute operational maintenance procedures and validation activities

• Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity testing efforts

• Maintain operational runbooks and support procedures

• Participate in audit readiness, evidence collection, and remediation activities

• Aid in the maintenance of technical controls aligned with regulatory and security requirements

• Support the protection of sensitive information including PII and PHI

• Utilize monitoring and observability platforms to identify service and infrastructure issues

• Review network health, capacity, availability, and performance metrics

• Contribute to operational reporting and dashboard development

• Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical procedures, standards documentation, and operational guides

• Collaborate with Systems Administration, Senior Systems Engineering, Senior Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, and GRC teams

• Engage in incident, change, and problem management processes

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience in network engineering, network administration, or network security

• Proficiency in administering Palo Alto firewalls

• Proficiency in administering Cisco firewalls

• Experience in supporting Cisco switching environments

• Familiarity with enterprise production infrastructure support

• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments

• Experience performing operational maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, and user administration

• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking

• Understanding of routing and switching

• Familiarity with VPN technologies

• Knowledge of network security principles

• Understanding of DNS and related network services

• Knowledge of high availability concepts

• Familiarity with load balancing concepts

• Understanding of cloud networking fundamentals

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability concepts

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Outstanding documentation and organizational skills

• Ability to independently manage operational responsibilities with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail in compliance-sensitive environments
