Natural Gas Scheduler / Cash Trader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily physical next-day and intra-day cash trading in conjunction with pipeline nominations and logistics.

• Balance physical positions while collaborating with the wider trading team to enhance pipeline transport capacity, storage, and fuel supply across various regional hubs.

• Execute daily next-day and intra-day physical natural gas transactions.

• Manage portfolio long/short positions, pipeline capacity releases, and spot acquisitions.

• Submit timely nominations for Evening, Intraday, and ID3 across interstate and intrastate pipeline Electronic Bulletin Boards.

• Monitor pipeline maintenance, operational flow orders, and capacity limitations, adjusting flows to avert cuts or penalties.

• Maximize pipeline transportation capacity, storage injections/withdrawals, and park-and-loan allocations.

• Track pipeline imbalances, line pack, and cash-out provisions.

• Capture trades, transport contracts, and scheduled volumes in the ETRM system in real-time.

• Work closely with back-office accounting and Market Risk teams on invoice discrepancies, commodity bills, monthly reconciliations, and compliance with FERC/CFTC/NAESB.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in physical natural gas scheduling.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience executing intra-day/next-day physical gas trades.

• Strong background in physical natural gas scheduling across any pipeline network.

• In-depth operational knowledge of NNG and NGPL is highly advantageous.

• Experience with ETRM platforms, trade capture processes, pipeline imbalance management, and transport settlement reconciliation.

• Willingness to participate in a rotating weekend and evening on-call schedule.

• Ability to maintain composure under stringent operational deadlines.
