This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Take ownership of and implement the national K-12 sales strategy, being accountable for revenue enhancement, pipeline development, territory performance, and expansion in Playaway’s school market.
• Enhance Playaway’s footprint within school libraries, media centers, classroom literacy programs, and district-wide instructional initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, marketing, and product teams to pinpoint emerging opportunities in the K-12 market, customer requirements, channel strategies, positioning, and long-term growth initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing K-12 sales team, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, field coaching, and continuous sales development.
• Develop strategic territories, establish clear revenue and pipeline expectations, and utilize market data to prioritize high-growth accounts, districts, and regions.
• Guide representatives on engaging school libraries, selling in classrooms and districts, account expansion, discovery, objection resolution, and closing strategies.
• Propel new account acquisition, repeat purchases, broader school penetration, and cross-product growth within Playaway’s K-12 portfolio.
• Convert K-12 budget cycles, procurement timelines, curriculum priorities, instructional initiatives, and library funding patterns into actionable sales strategies.
• Travel nationally approximately 50% or more of the time for field rides, customer meetings, district visits, trade shows, and significant K-12/library conferences, ensuring that field activities translate into measurable pipeline and sales opportunities.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with school librarians, district library coordinators, literacy leaders, curriculum stakeholders, state library associations, and other K-12 influencers.
• Foster a culture of disciplined execution, precise forecasting, CRM accountability, customer insights, and measurable sales performance.
• A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in K-12 education, educational publishing, library media, literacy solutions, edtech, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in leading, coaching, and managing the performance of quota-carrying sales representatives.
• Comprehensive understanding of the K-12 school library market, including how school librarians, media specialists, and district library coordinators assess, fund, purchase, and implement student-facing resources.
• Familiarity with school district procurement processes, budget cycles, curriculum priorities, purchasing approvals, and funding pathways.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing sales teams that consistently achieve or surpass revenue targets.
• Strong analytical skills, including experience leveraging territory data, pipeline health, market trends, and account performance to inform sales strategy.
• Experience in developing territories, prioritizing accounts, and executing go-to-market strategies in a growth-oriented sales environment.
• Excellent executive presence, communication capabilities, field coaching skills, and customer-facing credibility.
• Willingness and capability to travel nationally approximately 50% or more of the time.
