• Oversee the marketing and sales of Armstrong-branded fire products across the US market.
• Build a Sales Representative Network: Identify and recruit Tier 1 and Tier 2 sales representatives in key markets.
• Ensure that representatives are thoroughly onboarded and trained in Armstrong's products and services.
• Continuously assess and source new representative agencies.
• Develop, train, motivate, and supervise the distribution network in the region.
• Collaborate with the national sales team to discover and pursue new opportunities.
• Partner with industrial design consultants to create new applications in sectors such as oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining, refining, and natural gas.
• Ensure the acceptance of Design Envelope Fire solutions by design, construction, and approval authorities, including FIRE Marshals, insurance underwriters, and service and test organizations.
• Identify and cultivate other new sectors that require strategic engagement points outside of the typical sales cycle and regional sales distribution planning.
• Establish and work towards annual sales objectives for bookings, shipments, and margins.
• Oversee the proposal and quotation process in coordination with technical expertise within the Regional Sales Enablement Center.
• Manage sales expenses in accordance with the budget.
• Represent Armstrong in the fire industry by participating in industry events, webinars, trade shows, and other platforms.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to find opportunities to enhance our market presence, including online materials, collateral, and public speaking engagements.
• Assist in training and developing all distribution channels on a wide range of sales and marketing topics, including product feature and benefit presentations, technical presentations, fundamental selling skills, public speaking, computer training, and ACE selection software.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; a Master’s in Business Administration is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of proven success in business development, sales, and/or marketing leadership in product/service delivery to commercial, institutional, and industrial customers.
• Practical experience in national account development and management.
• This position does not qualify for visa sponsorship.
• Extensive understanding of the design requirements and intent of contemporary fire safety systems.
• Over 10 years of professional sales and sales management experience in the fire protection and life safety sector.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety codes, the code development process, and local approvals (site and field).
• Comprehensive competitive knowledge of participants in the fire safety industry, including both direct and indirect competitors from a fire safety standpoint.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and conflict management skills across various organizational structures (centralized and matrix).
• Capability to deconstruct complex issues in a straightforward manner, conduct root cause analyses, and offer clear, well-considered recommendations.
• Strong, team-oriented leadership abilities with a commanding presence and a proactive approach.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a focus on achieving results.
