This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Cultivates and sustains customer relationships.
• Identifies, generates, pursues, and finalizes new sales opportunities.
• Evaluates business opportunities and client requirements to address challenges through a sales-oriented approach to outsourced/managed transportation services.
• Utilizes thorough knowledge of the industry and customer market segment to implement suitable sales strategies for securing new business opportunities.
• Employs a multi-tiered approach to sales activities, including phone calls, in-person meetings, prospecting, qualifying, lead generation, and cold calling.
• Monitors and follows up with customer sales representatives regarding new leads for business opportunities.
• Conducts regular cold calling to uncover potential business opportunities.
• Establishes and expands new business opportunities.
• Provides quotes to customers for new lanes upon request or as necessary.
• Undertakes sales trips as required or justified to meet customer prospects.
• Designs and presents compelling sales presentations.
• Coordinates and collaborates closely with the VP of Business Development.
• Works in tandem with Operations Management to support sales operations as required.
• Aids Operations Management in setting performance goals.
• Offers support to Operations Management by fulfilling functional responsibilities when needed.
• Partners with operations managers to effectively onboard and allocate new business to the appropriate customer service representatives.
• Engages in the rehabilitation of existing sales accounts as necessary.
• Collaborates with operations managers, rate analysts, and customer and carrier sales representatives during bidding processes to affirm the rating process.
• Works with operations managers to establish and implement effective operational procedures as required.
• Proactively identifies problems and potential issues before they arise.
• When necessary, books available freight in a cost-efficient manner.
• Collaborates to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Monitors customer scorecards and meets established customer performance metrics.
• Develops, analyzes, and generates sales reports to share information with operations managers for assessing and maintaining sales performance and growth.
• Available by cell phone and email outside of regular hours and on weekends.
• Communicates observed performance issues to operations managers.
• Required transportation experience and a Book of Business to qualify for the position.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
