National Accounts Fleet Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of National Fleet Accounts: Cultivate and enhance direct relationships with major national fleet clients in the refuse vocational sector, concentrating on operators managing over 200 vehicles.

• Act as the primary contact for national fleet clients – ensuring there are no channel conflicts or intermediaries between you and the customers you serve, while delivering outstanding service and accountability from the factory.

• Establish long-term, trust-based partnerships that are rooted in a thorough understanding of vocational applications, truck component functionality, as well as the customer’s operational model, fleet economics, and performance challenges.

• Boost revenue, increase market share, and reinforce Autocar's standing among key fleet customers.

• Propel National Account Growth Through Direct Sales: Lead national sales initiatives by creating strategies that cater to the requirements of large fleet customers in the refuse and vocational sectors.

• Leverage a comprehensive understanding of vocational truck applications and component functionality to meticulously present the total cost of ownership case for Autocar trucks.

• Deliver proposals, negotiate contracts, and advocate for the company in high-level discussions, showcasing extensive industry knowledge and application expertise.

• Carry out detailed operational reviews with fleet managers, route managers, and district managers to identify truck specification needs, uptime deficiencies, and fleet performance obstacles.

• Collaborate with Autocar’s product engineering and production teams to communicate customer needs and field performance insights.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5-7 years of proven success within the refuse industry (mandatory industry experience).

• Direct sales experience with end-user fleets as an OEM representative, manufacturer's direct sales representative, or a similar commercial role within the waste sector; or experience in fleet management, route management, or operations within the waste industry.

• A profound understanding of refuse operations, fleet economics, truck specifications, and the operational challenges encountered by fleet customers.

• Key differentiators include relationships with national or major regional haulers (WM, Republic, GFL, or similar), expertise in refuse truck specifications, or experience with municipal RFP procurement and private fleet purchasing processes.

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.

• Willingness to travel weekly within your designated account portfolio – typically departing your home office on Monday and returning Thursday evening.
