MySQL Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of DBA responsibilities for designated Daxko product lines, which includes schema design, user and permission management, and maintenance of database objects.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance in both production and development environments.

• Oversee backup, recovery, and failover clustering configurations to ensure systems remain available and resilient.

• Collaborate with Engineering and QA teams during performance assessments for releases and schema modifications.

• Assist Technical Services with customer-related database issues, acting swiftly and communicating effectively.

• Facilitate data import and export across various database platforms for different teams.

• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to production incidents as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with MySQL, AWS Aurora, or SQL Server (or a combination thereof).

• Proficient in at least 2 cloud database technologies.

• Capable of reading and analyzing query execution plans to identify and resolve performance challenges.

• Comfortable working independently on multiple priorities while exhibiting strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Must be available for occasional nights and weekends as part of an on-call rotation.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.

• Experience in supporting multiple products or database platforms concurrently is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI tools pertinent to database administration is advantageous.

• 4 years or more of experience with MySQL, AWS Aurora, and/or SQL Server is a plus.
