MV/HV Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee, implement, and assess Corporate Safety Programs across various project sites.

• Carry out responsibilities as a safety representative.

• Deliver training and education on electrical safety.

• Instruct employees on safe work methods, clearance and operational processes, isolation procedures, and grounding principles.

• Identify leading and lagging safety metrics.

• Create and execute job-specific safety plans and protocols.

• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with the Company Safety Program and OSHA standards.

• Organize basic first aid training for personnel at the job site.

• Investigate and analyze incidents involving bodily injury, property damage, near misses, and reportable offenses.

• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors on projects.

• Compile and distribute regular summaries of accident reports.

• Communicate updates and changes in safety requirements to employees.

• Support, train, or enforce corporate safety guidelines and objectives among project management personnel.

• Collaborate with third-party safety verification platforms.

• Develop regional safety training utilizing onsite, local, and LMS-based approaches.

• Create training materials and assist trainers with safety programs.

• Monitor and flag personnel for additional or follow-up training as needed.

• Engage in the development of Corrective Action Plans.

• Review and update Electrical Safety Program documents in line with industry standards and best practices.

• Inspect and recertify regional live-line tools.


⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSP, or willingness to obtain certification.

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or 7 years of experience in solar safety.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety or a related discipline.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

• Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations.

• Solid grasp of NFPA 70E standards.

• Ability to assess operations and maintenance activities for safety and loss control.

• Capability to identify and analyze company accident trends.

• Legally permitted to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship, both now and in the future.

• Familiarity with fundamental electrical concepts.

• Understanding of utility-scale solar facilities and field circuitry.

• Knowledge of electrical substations and their functions.

• Awareness of medium- and high-voltage environments.
