This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +5 more countries.
• Transcribe intricate polyphonic musical recordings into organized notation.
• Isolate concurrent soprano, alto, tenor, and bass lines from blended audio.
• Recognize pitches, note onsets, durations, rests, and re-articulations.
• Quantize musical events to fit the correct rhythmic structure.
• Apply precise key signatures, accidentals, and enharmonic spelling.
• Create, edit, and verify MusicXML scores.
• Utilize Python for audio examination, spectral analysis, and workflow optimization.
• Confirm transcriptions by means of musical review, structured checks, or resynthesis.
• Detect and rectify subtle discrepancies in pitch, rhythm, voicing, or notation.
• Develop accurate and reproducible transcription workflows.
• Proficient in Python programming.
• Advanced ear training with proven skills in polyphonic music transcription.
• In-depth understanding of harmony, rhythm, voice leading, and conventional musical notation.
• Experience in SATB music, choral arranging, score preparation, or similar multi-part transcription.
• Capability to differentiate simultaneous musical lines from mixed recordings.
• Familiarity with creating or modifying digital musical scores.
• Ability to validate complex transcriptions for both musical and technical precision.
• Strong written English skills for documenting technical methods and outcomes.
• Experience with one or more of the following is advantageous, but no single platform is required: librosa, NumPy / SciPy, music21, Essentia, pretty_midi, MuseScore, MusicXML, or similar audio analysis, transcription, or notation software.
