Motor Engineer – Vehicle Damage Assessor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create precise and compliant assessments and estimates for vehicle damage repairs across all makes and models, utilizing manufacturers' and Thatcham research-approved methods.

• Oversee, process, and authorize vehicle damage evaluations promptly, adhering to Audatex and industry best-practice standards.

• Evaluate and appraise vehicles deemed beyond economical repair in accordance with industry and AQP standards, employing relevant industry guides and tools.

• Negotiate and settle disputes with clients and vehicle damage repair professionals.

• Act as a technical liaison for clients, claims teams, and repair management teams.

• Offer assistance on vehicle repair and total loss engineering referrals.

• Provide technical analytics services, including audits, third-party cost assessments, fraud evaluations, and compliance reviews.

• Utilize knowledge of FSA, ABI, and FOS regulations and standards relevant to motor claims processing.

• Address technical motor engineering issues and support team members through training and guidance.

• Engage with internal teams and external partners, fostering stakeholder relationships.

• Supervise quality assurance and compliance requirements, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

• Achieve engineering task processing requirements and meet business KPIs and targets.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in motor engineering, damage assessment, or claims management.

• Professional qualification in motor damage assessment (IAEA, ATA VDA, or an equivalent recognized credential).

• Qualification in the motor repair industry (IMI, ATA, NVQ, or City and Guilds).

• Thorough knowledge of vehicle accident repair industry standards and best practices.

• Proven experience with Audatex or similar damage assessment systems.

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of successful dispute resolution.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels.

• Comprehensive understanding of the motor insurance sector, including FSA, ABI, and FOS regulations.

• Experience in quality assurance, compliance monitoring, audit functions, technical analytics, or fraud assessment (desirable).

• Demonstrated experience in team leadership, mentoring, or training delivery (desirable).

• Familiarity with industry valuation guides and principles of total loss engineering (desirable).
