This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Overseeing the daily operations associated with loan origination tasks for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators in a designated out-of-footprint (OFP) area.
• Ensuring timely acquisition of documents necessary for processing, underwriting, and closing from the appropriate sources.
• Achieving specific annual loan volume origination targets set by senior management.
• Cultivating relationships with referral sources to maintain a consistent flow of loan volume from real estate brokers, builders, and other external channels.
• Actively engaging in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations.
• Keeping a comprehensive understanding of mortgage industry knowledge and current issues.
• Fostering collaborative partnerships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other U.S. Bank business lines to enhance customer relationship building and increase product sales.
• Responsible for interviewing and recruiting new talent while proactively enhancing employee retention through development and positive engagement strategies.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in mortgage sales.
• Proven skills in new business development and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of sales techniques and strategies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends.
• Basic understanding of pricing and underwriting requirements from various mortgage insurance providers.
• Practical knowledge of underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, acquired through on-the-job training or relevant real estate brokerage experience.
• Familiarity with local, state, and national regulations (e.g., zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.).
• Well-honed customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for financial information.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Must be capable of fulfilling duties outside of their usual work location as required.
