This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Overseeing the daily operations associated with loan origination tasks for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators within a designated out of footprint (OFP) area.
• Ensuring timely acquisition of documents necessary for processing, underwriting, and closing from the appropriate sources.
• Achieving specific loan origination volume targets established annually by senior management.
• Building relationships with referral sources to ensure a consistent flow of loan volume from real estate brokers, builders, and other external entities.
• Actively engaging in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of mortgage industry knowledge and current issues.
• Fostering collaborative partnerships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other divisions of U.S. Bank to enhance customer relationships and promote additional product sales.
• Responsible for recruiting new talent, conducting interviews, and actively retaining employees through development and positive engagement strategies.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in mortgage sales.
• Proven skills in new business development and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of sales techniques and strategies.
• Extensive knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends.
• Basic understanding of pricing and underwriting requirements from various mortgage insurance providers.
• Familiarity with underwriting standards for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors, gained through on-the-job training or real estate brokerage experience.
• Awareness of local, state, and federal regulations (such as zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.).
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Must be capable of fulfilling job responsibilities outside of the regular workplace.
