Mortgage Paralegal – Legal and Compliance

📋 Description

• The Mortgage Paralegal plays a vital role in assisting the Legal and Compliance teams by managing litigation and regulatory issues within a highly regulated financial services sector.

• Key responsibilities entail overseeing the intake and response processes for subpoenas and civil investigative demands, organizing and producing documentation (including necessary redactions), tracking deadlines and regulatory requests, and maintaining records within case and document management systems.

• The Paralegal provides support with consumer complaint correspondence and contested matters, conducts legal and factual research utilizing statutes, agency guidance, and other relevant sources, and assists in drafting filings, memoranda, and internal reports.

• This position also involves aiding with contract lifecycle management, administering legal e-billing, and overseeing the management of the legal inbox.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience as a Paralegal is required, ideally within the financial services sector or with a firm serving the financial services industry.

• A Paralegal Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, and/or Paralegal Certification is highly preferred.

• Proven experience providing support to in-house legal teams or law firms is necessary.

• Familiarity with corporate governance and risk management oversight is preferred.

• Prior experience as a contract administrator is also preferred.
