This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Oversee removal defense cases from the initial intake to the final adjudication.
• Ensure precise case documentation is maintained within Docketwise and the firm's systems.
• Monitor deadlines, court dates, biometrics appointments, and filing timelines.
• Facilitate the collection of documents and evidence from clients.
• Access and navigate the EOIR ECAS system.
• Upload filings, exhibits, and supporting documentation.
• Keep track of court notices and updates.
• Download and systematically organize EOIR correspondence and court documents.
• Guarantee that all filings are submitted on time and accurately.
• Draft attorney-reviewed documents and applications including, but not limited to: EOIR-42B (Cancellation of Removal for Non-Permanent Residents), Form I-589 (Asylum and Withholding of Removal), U-Visa Applications, Employment Authorization Applications, Motions to Continue, Motions to Change Venue, Motions to Reopen, Motions to Terminate Prosecutorial Discretion Requests/Admin Close Motions, and other removal defense and humanitarian applications.
• Compose motions, cover letters, exhibit indexes, and necessary supporting documentation.
• Assemble filing packets for attorney evaluation.
• Prepare service certificates and confirmations of filing.
• Ensure all filings adhere to EOIR requirements and deadlines.
• Get cases ready for Individual Hearings and Master Calendar Hearings.
• Organize evidence packets and exhibit binders efficiently.
• Compile witness and document lists.
• Assist attorneys in hearing preparations and the implementation of case strategies.
• Review files to confirm completeness prior to hearings.
• Conduct follow-ups with clients and request necessary documentation.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding the progress of their cases.
• Arrange meetings and consultations with attorneys.
• Help clients in gathering evidence and supporting materials.
• Deliver exceptional client service and maintain professionalism at all times.
• Keep internal case notes and updates on workflow.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Assist attorneys and legal staff with case-related initiatives.
• Conduct quality control assessments on case files.
• Undertake additional immigration-related tasks as assigned.
• A minimum of one to two (1-2) years of experience in immigration law/removal defense, specifically within EOIR.
• Familiarity with EOIR's ECAS portal and a solid understanding of Immigration Court filing procedures.
• Experience managing cases within Docketwise or similar CRM platforms.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), cloud-based document management systems, and legal/client management software.
• Excellent organizational abilities and strong attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines concurrently.
• Candidates must be able to communicate professionally with clients in at least one of the following languages: English, Spanish, or Hindi.
• 10 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually.
