This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assists in the modernization of engineering efforts by delivering independent technical expertise to both governmental entities and the implementation contractor, also known as the System Integrator.
• This position acts as a technical advisor and a bridge between stakeholders, ensuring that the designs of solutions, methods of implementation, and strategies for modernization are in line with government goals, enterprise architecture standards, and industry best practices.
• Develop and monitor project plans from inception through to completion.
• Engage in effective problem-solving activities.
• Offer technical oversight and advisory support for modernization initiatives.
• Review, assess, and provide feedback on architectural designs and technical implementation strategies.
• Evaluate solution architectures to confirm alignment with government mission objectives, both functional and non-functional requirements, security and compliance standards, as well as scalability, performance, and reliability expectations.
• Utilize industry-recognized methodologies and architectural evaluation frameworks to assess and compare technological candidates for modernization.
• Analyze cloud-native architectures and implementation strategies, including:
• Provide technical recommendations concerning cloud adoption strategies (AWS and OCI), integration tools, and sequencing of modernization efforts.
• Act as a technical liaison between Customer stakeholders and engineering teams to clarify requirements, risks, trade-offs, and impacts of implementation.
• Identify architectural risks, gaps, or inefficiencies and offer actionable recommendations for enhancements.
• Support technical discussions, design evaluations, and vendor assessments.
• Ensure that modernization efforts adhere to industry best practices in DevSecOps, cloud architecture, data integration, and enterprise system design.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Must hold an IT-II security clearance or possess a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAM Level III in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology, including CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Strong understanding of AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts, including:
• Microservices.
• Infrastructure as Code.
• Serverless computing.
• Containerization.
• Experience with ETL, EDI, and API-based integration patterns.
• Capability to analyze and critique architecture designs and implementation methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
