Mobile Engineer 4 – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with software engineers, designers, and product managers to create high-performing features for over 100 million customers.

• Offer technical leadership in mobile architecture and design patterns.

• Guide engineers through feedback, code reviews, and best practices specific to the platform.

• Recognize and resolve technical challenges.

• Develop and enhance expertise in performance, accessibility, and architecture.

• Participate in mobile architecture decisions, API design reviews, and the development of reusable components.

• Direct the design and development of client Backend-for-Frontends and Server-Driven UI architectures.

• Spearhead engineering practices and establish best practices for feature flags and staged rollouts.

• Advocate for the adoption of agentic AI tools and mentor engineers on AI-native development techniques.

• Utilize advanced expertise in the mobile ecosystem to make significant technical contributions.

• Set high standards for coding, testing, performance, accessibility, and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.

• Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience; internship experience is not considered applicable.

• At least 3 years of experience in developing native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).

• Proven track record in building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).

• Demonstrated experience with contemporary native UI frameworks like SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose.

• Skilled in designing and creating automated mobile testing suites, including Swift Testing, XCUI, JUnit, or Espresso.

• Experience in performance tuning and optimization for native mobile platforms.

• Proficient in designing scalable mobile architectures and reusable component libraries.

• Experienced in implementing and maintaining comprehensive automated testing.

• Familiar with modular architecture and modern state management patterns.

• Experience in designing and developing client Backend-for-Frontends using technologies such as GraphQL and gRPC/Protobuf.

• Familiarity with Server-Driven UI architectures.

• Experienced with metrics-driven staged rollout and feature flag strategies.

• Expertise in agentic AI coding tools and AI-assisted workflow patterns.

• Knowledge of on-device ML frameworks like CoreML or TensorFlow Lite.
