Mobile Engineer 4 – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality, high-performing features for over 100 million customers.

• Provide technical guidance on mobile architecture and design patterns.

• Mentor engineers through constructive feedback, code reviews, and platform-specific best practices.

• Identify and resolve technical challenges.

• Develop and enhance subject matter expertise in performance, accessibility, and architecture.

• Contribute to mobile architecture decisions, API design evaluations, and the development of reusable components.

• Oversee the design and implementation of client Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs) and Server-Driven UI (SDUI) architectures.

• Lead engineering practices, including the use of feature flags and staged rollouts.

• Advocate for the adoption of agentic AI tools and AI-native development methodologies.

• Make hands-on technical contributions utilizing advanced mobile platform capabilities and UI patterns.

• Set high standards for coding, testing, performance, accessibility, and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering).

• A minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience is not considered).

• At least 3 years of experience in developing native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).

• Proven track record in building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).

• Demonstrated experience with modern native UI frameworks, including SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose.

• Experience in designing and constructing automated mobile testing suites, such as Swift Testing, XCUI, JUnit, or Espresso.

• Background in performance tuning and optimization on native mobile platforms.

• Experience in designing scalable mobile architectures and reusable component libraries.

• Familiarity with implementing and maintaining thorough automated testing.

• Knowledge of modular architecture and contemporary state management patterns.

• Experience in designing and developing client Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs) using technologies like GraphQL and efficient networking protocols such as gRPC/Protobuf.

• Experience with Server-Driven UI (SDUI) architectures.

• Familiarity with metrics-driven staged rollout and feature flag strategies.

• Expertise in agentic AI coding tools and AI-assisted workflow methodologies.

• Understanding of on-device ML frameworks such as CoreML or TensorFlow Lite.
