Mobile Developer – React Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Act as the sole mobile developer for a new offline-first iOS and Android application, overseeing the project from initial setup to public launch.

• Establish Apple and Google developer accounts, manage signing, CI builds, and testing tracks.

• Develop local storage solutions, write queues, and retry mechanisms for offline functionality.

• Collaborate with the backend developer to agree on sync and upload APIs and determine conflict resolution strategies for edits.

• Implement phone-number sign-in using SMS codes and push notifications, including SMS fallback options.

• Create camera capture and e-signature workflows that save each signed document as a new version.

• Evaluate and enhance startup time, memory usage, and app size on low-end Android devices.

• Manage App Store and Google Play submissions, including privacy disclosures and handling review rejections.

• Integrate crash and sync monitoring capabilities.

• Review AI-generated code diffs, add necessary tests, and make decisions regarding sync, storage, and releases.

• Document risk assessments and trade-offs with recommendations directly for the client team.

• Operate in two-week sprints focused on four to five features while confirming acceptance criteria.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in developing mobile applications, including React Native apps launched on both the App Store and Google Play.

• Proven experience with offline-first development, including local storage, queued writes, retries, and conflict resolution.

• Expertise in performance tuning for low-end Android devices, with measurable improvements in startup time or memory usage before and after changes.

• Daily utilization of AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code in mobile production work, incorporating TypeScript, automated tests, and CI.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for PR descriptions, risk notes, and trade-off explanations for the client team.

• Experience working from written acceptance criteria and the ability to push back on merges that do not meet them.

• Familiarity with in-app e-signature or document workflows that store versioned records.

• Experience developing applications tailored for field, frontline, or hourly workers.

• Experience with localization, or proficiency in Spanish for interface testing.

• Background in backend development, including writing endpoints or performing database migrations.

• Experience setting up crash reporting or sync monitoring tools and utilizing them to resolve field issues.

• Must be available for full-time contracting at approximately 40 hours per week.

• Must work during core hours aligned with US time zones.
