Mobile Architect – IoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and oversee the architecture of mobile applications and connected-device solutions utilizing React Native and related technologies.

• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures for mobile and IoT solutions.

• Create solutions employing event-driven and distributed architectures, encompassing messaging, asynchronous processing, and real-time data flows.

• Develop integrations between mobile applications, IoT devices, APIs, and backend systems.

• Formulate architecture and technical strategies that align with client business requirements and long-term technology objectives.

• Assess existing applications and technical environments, recommending architectural enhancements, modernization strategies, and technological approaches.

• Convert business and technical requirements into actionable architecture and solution designs.

• Establish architectural patterns, technical standards, development practices, and integration methodologies.

• Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams throughout the design and development lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to comprehend business challenges, convey technical concepts, and devise suitable solutions.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, design reviews, and solution presentations.

• Identify technical risks, dependencies, scalability issues, and avenues for improvement.

• Partner with engineering, product, security, and other technical teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end solutions.

• Offer hands-on technical guidance and contribute to development as necessary.

• Document architecture, technical decisions, integration patterns, APIs, and solution designs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development, solution architecture, or a related technical field.

• Significant professional experience in developing mobile applications with React Native.

• Proven track record in designing and implementing software and mobile application architectures.

• Demonstrated experience in designing or delivering IoT solutions, including connected devices, device communication, telemetry, APIs, or IoT platforms.

• Extensive experience with event-driven architecture, including asynchronous communication, messaging, event processing, and distributed systems.

• Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, backend systems, and event-driven platforms.

• Strong comprehension of modern software architecture principles, design patterns, scalability, security, and system integration.

• Demonstrated expertise working in a consulting or client-facing role, translating client needs into practical technical solutions.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to development teams.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a consulting/contract environment.

• Experience with IoT platforms and connected-device ecosystems.

• Familiarity with MQTT, device management, telemetry, or device-to-device communication.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.

• Experience with messaging and event platforms such as Kafka or similar technologies.

• Background in distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous architectures.

• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD processes, automated testing, application monitoring, and release management.

• Experience with mobile application security, authentication, authorization, and secure data handling.

• Proven ability to integrate mobile applications with APIs, backend services, and IoT platforms.

• Experience leading technical discovery, estimates, proposals, or architecture engagements for clients.
