Mobile App Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and oversee mobile test automation frameworks and test suites for both iOS and Android platforms.

• Conduct hands-on manual testing, which includes exploratory, regression, functional, and smoke testing of mobile applications.

• Develop and manage test cases, test plans, and defect reports using JIRA, linking test executions to requirements through Xray.

• Create and enhance no-code/low-code automation scripts utilizing visual and flow-based automation tools.

• Write and maintain Java-based test code for integration, API, and bespoke automation requirements.

• Configure and manage API mocking environments with WireMock to facilitate isolated test execution.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, provide QA estimates, and assist in sprint planning and retrospectives.

• Work collaboratively with developers to triage defects, reproduce issues, and validate fixes during build cycles.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration to allow automated test execution with each build.

• Document test strategies, frameworks, and processes to foster team knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in mobile test automation for iOS and/or Android applications.

• Strong grasp of QA fundamentals: test strategy, test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and the software development lifecycle.

• Practical experience with manual testing methodologies and the capability to effectively utilize exploratory testing techniques.

• Proficiency in JIRA for defect and test management, as well as Xray for authoring, executing, and reporting test cases.

• Familiarity with one or more no-code or low-code automation frameworks (e.g., Sofy.ai, Maestro, TestProject, Katalon, or similar).

• Experience in configuring and utilizing WireMock for HTTP API mocking and service virtualization.

• Working knowledge of Java for developing automation code, utilities, or custom test extensions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly convey test findings and status to both technical and non-technical audiences.
