ML Research Engineer – Computer Vision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical roadmap for computer vision initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.

• Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers.

• Design and create computer vision models and algorithms for item authentication, fingerprinting, high-quality image capture, and related applications.

• Implement innovative computer vision and machine learning methods to enhance model performance and scalability.

• Supervise the deployment of machine learning models in production environments.

• Optimize algorithms for latency, accuracy, and power consumption on edge devices.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather product requirements, define project scopes, and deliver effective solutions.

• Work alongside engineering teams to integrate computer vision models into comprehensive system architectures.

• Promote best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.

• Evaluate and enhance code for modularity, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

• Analyze production data to uncover opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Contribute to thought leadership in the field of computer vision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• 3-6 years of experience in the development of computer vision and machine learning solutions.

• Proficiency in traditional computer vision methods, including feature extraction and image processing.

• Expertise in deep learning.

• Advanced skills in Python and C++ programming languages.

• Proficient with tools such as PyTorch, HuggingFace, OpenCV, and CUDA.

• Experience in designing, training, and deploying computer vision models at scale.

• Familiarity with distributed training and inference pipelines.

• Knowledge of API design and deployment for machine learning model services, such as FastAPI, TensorRT, Nvidia Triton, and Ray.

• Strong foundation in probability, statistics, optimization, linear algebra, and geometry.

• Experience in deploying and optimizing models for iOS devices, including real-time data processing and resource efficiency.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate within cross-functional, global teams.
