This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Design, train, assess, and refine computer vision and visual language models.
• Engage in object recognition, detection, classification, and identification tasks.
• Construct data pipelines, scrapers, and workflows for extensive visual and geospatial datasets.
• Explore cutting-edge and open-source models, transforming promising techniques into dependable systems.
• Utilize satellite imagery, geospatial data, sensors, and various visual intelligence sources.
• Assume responsibility for experimental projects and swiftly investigate new ideas and technologies.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers and technical leaders on crucial initiatives.
• Travel every 2–4 weeks for architecture reviews and team events.
• Develop and implement computer vision and visual language capabilities for intelligence and public safety projects.
• Train, assess, fine-tune, and enhance AI models for practical applications.
• Work with object recognition, image and document understanding, geospatial data, satellite imagery, and vast visual datasets.
• Create effective engineering systems from data pipelines and experimental work.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with an outstanding academic record from a top university.
• Strong academic performance and exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient programming skills and experience in developing or fine-tuning AI/ML models.
• Background in computer vision, VLMs, image understanding, or similar machine learning applications.
• Keen interest in data, analytics, and data pipeline development.
• Exceptional capability and enthusiasm for swiftly learning new technologies and domains.
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and comfortable working with minimal day-to-day oversight.
• Strong collaborator with clear and transparent communication skills.
• Proficient in the German language.
• Eligible for full-time employment in Germany.
• Willing to undergo necessary security clearances and background checks.
• Experience with georeferencing, satellite imagery, remote sensing, OpenStreetMap, or photogrammetry.
• Familiarity with large-scale data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, or ML deployment.
• Experience with sensors like drones, antennas, or cameras.
• Background in computer vision research, such as at Fraunhofer IGD or similar institutions.
• Knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian languages.
• Interest or experience in military, intelligence, defense, or public safety sectors.
