ML Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a force multiplier for development teams by establishing streamlined processes that eliminate obstacles and enhance creativity and innovation.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers, product managers, and internal stakeholders within an Agile framework.

• Design and execute tasks from start to finish with minimal oversight from senior team members.

• Assist teams in building and deploying AI applications by tackling common challenges in the Machine Learning Development Life Cycle (MLDLC).

• Continuously learn and show enthusiasm for discovering new tools, technologies, libraries, and frameworks (both commercial and open source) that can enhance PitchBook’s AI capabilities.

• Uphold the company’s vision and values by modeling desired behaviors and encouraging them in others.

• Engage in various cross-functional company initiatives and projects as needed.

• Assess frameworks, vendors, and tools that can be utilized to optimize processes and reduce costs with minimal direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Machine Learning, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience).

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience in the development and deployment of Machine Learning algorithms and services.

• More than 3 years of experience supporting the complete MLDLC, including post-deployment operations like monitoring and maintenance.

• At least 3 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with at least 50% of the following: PyTorch, Tensorflow, LangChain, scikit-learn, Redis, Elasticsearch, Amazon SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, Weights & Biases, FastAPI, Prometheus, Grafana, Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, MLflow, KubeFlow.

• Capability to decompose large, complex problems into manageable steps, ensuring iterative development and ongoing enhancement.

• Experience in cloud-native delivery, with a practical understanding of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.

• Proficient in GitOps and the creation/management of CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven experience in building and utilizing SQL/NoSQL databases.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Python (knowledge of Java is a plus) and other relevant programming languages and tools.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and scalability in a global context.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to effectively engage with internal customers across diverse cultures and regions.

• Ability to function as a team player while also being capable of working independently.

• Experience collaborating across multiple development teams is a plus.
