Millwork Production Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Import engineering models for fabrication and generate 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC programs.

• Create and develop detailed 3D models and drawings suitable for CNC fixtures and jigs.

• Extract and modify geometry from engineering models for part nesting and cut lists.

• Collaborate with the Machines Manager, Engineering team, and CNC Operators to ensure effective fabrication of all components.

• Analyze specified materials to comprehend their intended applications and limitations.

• Produce comprehensive mill handoff packages from model importation to the final CNC programming stage.

• Design, model, and program CAM paths for fixtures involving multiple parts.

• Establish feedback mechanisms with CNC operators to enhance program efficiency.

• Recognize and promote operational adjustments that minimize inefficiencies and boost production throughput.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in CNC programming, machining, or production engineering, typically acquired over a span of 2-4 years.

• Expertise in Rhino 3D and Mastercam (both 3-axis and 5-axis).

• Strong understanding of CAM post-processing and machine limitations.

• Capability to design efficient fixtures and jigs for CNC operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience (preferred).

• Background in custom fabrication or working with complex geometries (preferred).

• Knowledge of g-code and machine positional controls (preferred).

• Experience with Grasshopper or similar parametric modeling software (preferred).
