Middle School Social Studies Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted Middle School Social Studies curriculum content in a virtual setting

• Provide teaching, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and ensure adherence to student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of performance issues

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Build positive relationships with families and maintain communication with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student data and utilize it to inform instructional strategies

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Social Studies teaching certification for grades 4-8 or 7-12

• Residency in Texas

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid state teaching license

• Capability to clear necessary background checks

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours

• Skill in interpreting and producing numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data

• Proficiency in using student data to inform instructional decisions

• Open to regular coaching from administrators and instructional trainers

• Ability to adapt to changes to ensure outstanding student outcomes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
