Middle Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Developing backend code and conducting tests while utilizing open source technologies to achieve dependable results.

• Enhancing code quality through testing, refactoring, and peer reviews.

• Collaborating effectively within an agile team framework using Scrum methodology.

• Engaging with business stakeholders and internal users to design and deliver products that attract new customers and encourage repeat visits.

• Conducting root cause analysis to ensure that errors are thoroughly understood and not repeated.

• Contributing to the establishment of coding standards and guidelines, while exemplifying adherence to them.

• Standing by your solutions to ensure that both you and the team possess the tools and capability to support its operation outside of regular hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in Java, Spring, and related technologies such as JUnit, Web Application Servers (e.g., Jetty/Tomcat), and Gradle/Maven.

• Strong proficiency in MySQL and crafting optimized database queries.

• Comprehensive understanding of architectural software concepts, Object-Oriented and Functional programming, MVC/MV* architectures, and asynchronous server communication.

• Experience designing and developing RESTful web services and managing JSON data.

• Proficient in using Git and understanding distributed version control strategies.

• A software craftsman with a disciplined and methodical approach to writing simple and effective software, willing to learn from failures and share insights on mistakes.

• Knowledgeable in web software architectures and design patterns.

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and refactoring.

• Familiarity with tracking systems such as JIRA.

• A strong desire and willingness to learn about the business domain and new technologies.
