Middle Backend Developer – Node.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement web billing integrations, including payment providers, subscription management, recurring billing, and webhook handling (idempotency, retries, reconciliation).

• Create and deploy marketing integrations, such as attribution platforms, server-side conversion/events APIs, and analytics/CRM/ESP pipelines.

• Design technical specifications for product epics and break them down into actionable tasks.

• Engage in team processes such as grooming, sprint planning, and estimations.

• Conduct investigations and technical research regarding third-party API limits, provider selection, and edge cases.

• Tackle technical debt and enhance the reliability and observability of integrations.

• Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including design, development, code review, testing, release, and support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of commercial backend development experience.

• More than 2.5 years of experience with Node.js (TypeScript).

• Strong knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices, including inter-service communication and development processes.

• Solid understanding of design principles and patterns (SOLID, event-driven).

• Experience in integrating third-party REST APIs, including authentication, rate limits, retries, webhooks, and idempotency.

• Knowledge of asynchronous processing and message queues (BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or Kafka).

• Experience working with cloud providers (AWS / GCP).

• Understanding of scaling and high-load systems.

• Daily utilization of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for development, refactoring, tests, and documentation.

• Capability to write effective prompts and review/validate AI-generated code, ensuring quality and security ownership remains with you.
