Mid Software Developer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, design, and enhance general software applications or specialized utility programs.

• Create, construct, and sustain microservices within a cloud-native architecture.

• Manage and support a large-scale enterprise production system.

• Detect, analyze, and resolve intricate system issues.

• Evaluate user requirements and produce effective software solutions that align with business and mission objectives.

• Analyze, design, and optimize both relational and NoSQL databases within application ecosystems.

• Engage in code reviews, pair programming, and mentor junior developers.

• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture teams.

• Transition existing system functionalities from mainframes to AWS GovCloud.

• Shift investigative search capabilities to Elasticsearch or similar technologies.

• Develop microservices utilizing OpenShift-based container platforms.

• Implement full-stack components and UI integration layers using contemporary JavaScript frameworks.

• Support event-driven architectures and high-throughput data processing systems.

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, one week out of every four.

• Acknowledge on-call contacts within 15 minutes.

• Maintain reasonable access to a secure work laptop while on call.

• Start assessing or troubleshooting requests within 60 minutes of notification.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of professional experience OR Associate’s Degree with at least 7 years of experience.

• Active Tier 3 Secret clearance or higher.

• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for clearance eligibility.

• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, Java, and Spring Boot.

• Experience in developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications.

• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm charts, and container orchestration in OpenShift or comparable platforms.

• Experience in designing, developing, and operating solutions in AWS or other cloud platforms.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and enterprise message brokers like IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.

• Familiarity with observability tools, distributed tracing, structured logging, and metrics collection, including OpenTelemetry, Kibana, or the ELK stack.

• Experience with GitOps practices using GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, or similar tools.

• Experience working within Agile methodologies, including Scrum/SAFe ceremonies.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

• Ability to produce clear technical documentation, including API documentation, architectural decisions, and implementation notes.

• Experience with artifact repository managers such as Artifactory or Nexus is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, or DynamoDB is increasingly beneficial.

• Experience in building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines is increasingly valuable.

• Knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation is increasingly advantageous.

• Proficiency in Linux administration, shell scripting, and environment automation is increasingly valuable.

• Experience with React, Next.js, or Angular is increasingly beneficial.

• Understanding of GraphQL, responsive UI development, and front-end integration patterns is increasingly valuable.

• Experience with Python, Go, Kotlin, Node.js, C++, C#, or Ruby is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Experience with relational databases, NoSQL systems, distributed data systems, automated testing, Elasticsearch, and Maven is valuable.

• Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, one week out of every four.
