Mid-Level Grid Interconnection Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare applications for new generator interconnections.

• Create conceptual single-line diagrams.

• Confirm adherence to reactive power standards.

• Develop models for steady-state, dynamic, and short-circuit analysis.

• Review feasibility and system impact studies conducted by ISO.

• Offer guidance to ISO Interconnection Customers.

• Conduct analyses for thermal and voltage contingencies, transient stability, and short-circuit scenarios.

• Execute advanced grid system studies for both conventional and renewable generation projects.

• Assist clients in their generator interconnection planning strategies.

• Utilize relevant technology, data, automation, AI, and digital tools while exercising professional judgment and review.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a solid academic foundation and coursework focused on Power Systems Analysis.

• A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in power systems engineering.

• Familiarity with power regions and ISOs/RTOs such as PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, and ISO-NE.

• Experience in modeling inverter-based resources and renewable generation, including WTG, PV, BESS, hybrid generation, and related collector systems.

• Proficient with PSS/E, PSLF, and/or PSCAD.

• Experience with transmission planning software, especially PSS/E, PSLF, and TARA, for load flow modeling and contingency assessments.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven experience in drafting technical reports and proposals.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to collaborate and guide others.

• Skills in project planning and leadership.

• Experience with dynamic transient, stability, and other advanced studies using TSAT, EMTP-RV, or PSCAD is advantageous.
