Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer – Ruby on Rails

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance production backend systems, emphasizing quality, security, and scalability.

• Engage in refinement sessions, technical discussions, and discovery, offering straightforward solutions and identifying potential risks.

• Oversee error monitoring, bug fixing, and maintain overall application health, including management of asynchronous jobs and queues.

• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and fellow engineers, gaining increasing autonomy.

• Ensure consistent delivery with high quality.

• Successfully navigate the technical and cultural phases of the selection process to enter the qualified Talent Pool.

• Be approached regarding future Mid-Level Developer roles without needing to undergo the entire selection process again.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining backend systems in a production setting.

• Hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails, adhering to best practices and conventions.

• Understanding of RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with relational data modeling, such as PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of service integration.

• Experience with asynchronous processing, including tools like Sidekiq.

• Strong grasp of SOLID principles, design patterns, code reviews, automated testing, refactoring, and Git.

• Experience collaborating within agile teams.

• Nice to have: familiarity with messaging and event-driven architectures, including Pub/Sub, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Nice to have: understanding of resilience patterns and observability tools, such as Datadog and Rollbar.
