Merchandise Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Create detailed merchandise strategies that align with company objectives, sales goals, and current market trends across various product categories.

• Take ownership of and facilitate Open-to-Buy meetings as well as monthly evaluations with senior leadership.

• Utilize historical data, market insights, and customer feedback to forecast demand.

• Implement strategies for inventory management and replenishment.

• Track inventory levels and assess sell-through performance.

• Suggest measures to enhance inventory turnover while reducing stock-outs and excess inventory.

• Perform financial analyses concerning sales performance, margin trends, and product profitability.

• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.

• Ensure the financial success of designated divisions by achieving sales, margin, and inventory turn objectives.

• Guarantee that reporting deliverables are accurate, efficient, and standardized.

• Discover opportunities to enhance sales potential and offer clear, data-driven suggestions.

• Collaborate closely with Merchandising teams and report directly to the Planning Manager.

• Participate in a mandatory in-person interview prior to receiving a job offer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in assortment, demand, or merchandise planning.

• At least 2 years of experience in a retail ecommerce setting.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Exceptional proficiency in retail mathematics.

• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs or higher-level functions.

• Ability to quickly adapt to new technical applications.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Capability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

• Ability to forge and sustain strong cross-functional relationships and influence key stakeholders.

• Adaptable and flexible in response to changing priorities.

• Competence in organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively under pressure.

• Proven daily usage of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or similar for practical applications.

• Ability to iterate prompts, critically evaluate AI outputs, and determine appropriate use of AI.
