MEP BIM/VDC Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish, develop, and sustain Revit MEP models along with relevant project documentation across all project phases.

• Assist Mechanical and Electrical engineers and production teams with Revit processes, model configurations, documentation, and troubleshooting.

• Set and uphold model standards, including links, coordinates, worksharing, views, sheets, and overall model integrity.

• Create, manage, and systematize MEP families, content, templates, shared parameters, and associated BIM standards.

• Coordinate MEP models with Architectural, Structural, and other disciplines, which includes model evaluation and clash detection.

• Conduct BIM quality assurance to ensure model precision, consistency, and compliance with project deliverable specifications.

• Provide support for AutoCAD-to-Revit and Revit-to-AutoCAD workflows as needed for project or client deliverables.

• Engage in enhancing BIM and Digital Delivery processes, developing standards, and participating in team training initiatives.

• Offer specialized BIM expertise to MEP design teams across projects in commercial office, mission-critical/data centers, telecommunications, and industrial facilities.

• Report directly to the BIM Manager and collaborate as an integral member of multidisciplinary project teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems, engineering documentation, and BIM workflows.

• Proficient in Autodesk Revit MEP, encompassing project setup, worksharing, linked models, views/sheets, system modeling, and family/content management.

• Capability to develop and sustain coordinated MEP BIM models and construction documentation.

• Aptitude for troubleshooting Revit model, family, visibility, and coordination challenges.

• Capacity to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on service orientation.

• Familiarity with Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat PDF workflows.

• Experience working within Autodesk Forma (ACC) and/or BIM 360 environments.

• Technical diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, BIM/VDC, Construction, Architectural Engineering, or a related area.

• At least 2 years of experience in MEP drafting/modeling, BIM coordination, or related building systems.

• Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing Autodesk Revit, preferably Revit MEP, in a professional setting.

• Preferred: experience supporting Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering teams in a BIM specialist, BIM coordinator, or similar capacity.

• Preferred: experience with model coordination and clash detection tools and methodologies.

• Preferred: experience with Dynamo, pyRevit, or other BIM automation utilities.

• Preferred: knowledge of BIM standards, MEP content management, digital delivery processes, and interoperability.
