Mental Health Therapist, Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding care, encompassing mental health assessments and teletherapy, to PreK-12 students and school personnel in Cartwheel’s partner districts (typically 2-4 months per student, with extensions based on clinical necessity and clinician's discretion).

• Engage in case discussions with fellow Cartwheel team members.

• Assist students and families in transitioning to community care providers.

• Foster collaborative, trusted, and enduring relationships with school leadership, staff, students, and families. Regularly meet with school staff to address student mental health needs and devise strategies to enhance school services.

• If qualified and interested, offer clinical supervision to other members of the care team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A strong passion for collaborating with schools on mental health initiatives and contributing to the growth of a startup.

• An active associate or independent license in Illinois to provide mental health care (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PhD/PsyD).

• Proficient in CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing.

• A minimum of two years of experience delivering mental health services to children and youth through telehealth. Our platforms include Zoom, GSuite (Google Calendar, Gmail, etc.), electronic health record systems, and other collaboration tools.

• Reliable access to high-speed internet (50 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload; you can check your speed at https://www.speedtest.net/).

• Exceptional organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.

• Availability to offer hours during and primarily after school (e.g., 3-8 pm Central Time, Saturdays).

• Capability to deliver effective and safe care to both children and adults, including managing crisis situations virtually.

• NOTE: As long as you hold an active Illinois license, you can reside anywhere in the United States.
