This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Deliver mental health and addiction support, encompassing assessments, interventions, support planning, referrals, risk identification, and escalation.
• Collaborate with tāngata whai ora to recognize their strengths, protective factors, and actionable next steps.
• Assist individuals in accessing urgent services as needed.
• Provide culturally responsive and trauma-informed support in accordance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Engage with tāngata whai ora through phone, SMS, email, and online chat platforms.
• Maintain accurate documentation using the organization's IT systems.
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards.
• Operate as part of a collaborative 24/7 shift team supporting National Telehealth Service initiatives.
• A minimum Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification (Mental Health and Addiction strand or equivalent).
• Proven experience working with individuals facing mental distress and addiction challenges.
• Experience in providing assessments, brief emotional support, and risk identification.
• Proven track record in assisting people to access urgent services when necessary.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, wellbeing-oriented, and values-based practices.
• Excellent listening and communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport in virtual settings.
• Strong assessment skills and decision-making capabilities.
• Proficiency in using digital systems and communication platforms.
• Ability to adhere to established protocols, documentation standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
• Commitment to cultural responsiveness and equity.
• Demonstrated professional resilience, accountability, and reflective practice.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including overnight, early morning, and weekend schedules.
• Availability to work between 0.6–1 FTE, with shifts scheduled from 10:30 PM to 11:00 AM.
