This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
• Provide support for mental health and addictions, encompassing assessment, interventions, support planning, referrals, risk identification, and appropriate escalation.
• Collaborate with service users to identify their strengths, protective factors, and actionable next steps.
• Assist individuals in accessing urgent services when necessary.
• Deliver culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support in accordance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Engage with service users through phone, SMS, email, and online chat platforms.
• Maintain accurate records using organizational IT systems.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement efforts.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards.
• Work as a member of a collaborative 24/7 shift team supporting National Telehealth Service offerings.
• A minimum Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification (Mental Health and Addiction strand or equivalent).
• Proven experience in working with individuals facing mental distress and addiction issues.
• Experience in providing assessment, brief emotional support, and risk identification.
• Experience in assisting individuals to access urgent services when needed.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, wellbeing-oriented, and values-based practices.
• Excellent listening and communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport in virtual settings.
• Strong assessment skills and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in using digital systems and communication platforms.
• Capability to operate within established protocols, documentation standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
• Commitment to cultural responsiveness and equity.
• Professional resilience, accountability, and reflective practice.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including overnights, early mornings, and weekends.
• Availability to work 0.6–1 FTE, with shifts scheduled between 10:30pm–11:00am.
• Ideally, three to six months of experience working in telehealth or a comparable role.
