Member of Technical Staff, Backend Engineer, API

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete API lifecycle, including design, implementation, monitoring, optimization, and documentation for both public and internal APIs.

• Create and execute asynchronous workflows for task orchestration, content moderation, prompt enhancement, and post-processing pipelines.

• Enhance database queries and boost performance for a high-traffic Postgres database.

• Develop systems for rate limiting, fraud detection, and credit management.

• Establish comprehensive API security measures, including rate limiting, authentication, and monitoring systems to ensure reliability at scale.

• Elevate the public API developer experience through improved documentation, SDKs, and tooling.

• Enhance the performance, reliability, and code quality across our codebases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in building production APIs.

• Proficient in TypeScript.

• Experience managing systems end-to-end, covering infrastructure, monitoring, logging, metrics, and incident response.

• Knowledge of API design patterns, REST principles, and asynchronous workflows.

• Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres preferred) and query optimization techniques.

• Experience designing production-ready systems at scale utilizing cloud services from AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Capability to quickly prototype solutions and iterate under tight product deadlines.
