This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Reviewing and refining a diverse array of content outputs (such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides, PDFs, and digital materials) for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity.
• Ensuring compliance with house, client, and journal style guidelines.
• Utilizing digital markup tools effectively, tracking changes and comments to deliver clear, actionable editorial feedback.
• Proofreading typeset copy with attention to layout (figures/tables, colors, size, quality, and resolution) and coordinating with the studio and/or journal for necessary adjustments.
• Verifying redrawn figures, PowerPoint presentations, and PDFs from the studio to ensure their accuracy against submitted materials.
• Collaborating with teams to ensure that all necessary copyright and author permissions are secured, including relevant copyright wording for reproduced materials.
• Managing and updating client style guides; ensuring their consistent application across various accounts.
• Validating content for scientific accuracy and consistency by checking data, references, and source materials in accordance with SOPs.
• Partnering with the scientific team to address data discrepancies or uncertainties.
• Raising concerns or unclear data to the appropriate team members to guarantee that final outputs adhere to Prime quality standards.
• Tracking and monitoring actual versus budgeted time on projects and accurately completing timesheets each week, submitting them by the deadline.
• Proactively identifying when task scope, timelines, or budgets are misaligned.
• A degree in life sciences is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical communications company, medical journal, or a similar environment.
• Exceptional standards of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solutions-oriented mindset with sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Strong multitasking, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, EndNote, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Experience with digital markup, tracked changes, and editing tools.
• Excellent attention to detail.
