Medical Coder, CDI Specialist – AI Clinical Evaluation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create authentic medical coding and CDI scenarios along with benchmark tasks.

• Examine inpatient or outpatient medical records, diagnoses, procedures, clinical indicators, and provider documentation.

• Assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy in coding, integrity of documentation, necessity in medical practice, and compliance standards.

• Detect incomplete, contradictory, unsupported, or unclear documentation.

• Develop gold-standard responses and defensible reference solutions.

• Review diagnosis and procedure coding in accordance with applicable conventions and guidelines.

• Evaluate principal diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, sequencing, specificity, and clinical validation as needed.

• Analyze documentation for query opportunities and pinpoint missing or inadequate clinical support.

• Utilize structured rubrics to assess coding, terminology, documentation quality, and adherence to regulations.

• Engage in calibration, peer review, and ongoing refinement of coding and CDI materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Around 3+ years of experience in professional medical coding, CDI, or related revenue-cycle roles.

• Current or recent professional experience within the past 3 years.

• Active or recent recognized certification such as CCS, CPC, CDIP, CCDS, or an equivalent qualification.

• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and/or ICD-10-PCS as well as relevant coding guidelines.

• Significant experience in reviewing complex medical records and clinical documentation.

• Capability to identify coding mistakes, documentation deficiencies, unsupported diagnoses, and compliance issues.

• Strong comprehension of coding accuracy, medical necessity, and clinical validation principles.

• Proficient written English skills with the ability to clearly articulate coding or documentation decisions.
