Medical Benefits Underwriting Coordinator – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Evaluate incoming submissions and associated documents/reports for accuracy, including class of policy (Group or Individual), branch code, and other necessary information.

• Collaborate with Underwriters and Sales personnel to analyze the submitted data.

• Manage reserves within the policy issuance system.

• Engage in systems and workflow enhancement as required.

• Review daily workload to prioritize timelines for medical underwriting review submissions and coordinate with management regarding any issues that arise.

• Assist our Benefits Underwriting Department with everyday responsibilities, support underwriters in managing a book of business, and contribute to improving the underwriting process.

• Aid the Claims Department with authorized services, documentation, and reserves.

⛳️ Requirements

• Any level of nursing (LPN/RN/BSN/MSN) is acceptable.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in risk, finance, utilization, and/or case management.

• Experience in Health Insurance Underwriting is an advantage.

• Openness to learning and developing robust technical skills within the Health Insurance Industry.

• Understanding of claims review and analytics is desirable.

• Experience in Stoploss/Reinsurance or with payors is a plus.

• Licenses & Certifications: Nursing: LPN, RN, BSN, CM, or other related certifications are advantageous.
