This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Implement earned media strategies that align with the North American communications framework.
• Establish and nurture relationships with journalists in consumer, health, business, lifestyle, technology, parenting, and women’s media across the US and Canada.
• Create compelling story angles and media pitches for research, product launches, campaigns, partnerships, and cultural events.
• Achieve earned media placements across print, digital, broadcast, podcasts, newsletters, and emerging media platforms.
• Compose press releases, media alerts, executive briefing documents, FAQs, and various other media materials.
• Handle incoming media inquiries through outreach, interview scheduling, and follow-up communication.
• Implement the annual earned media calendar and assist with communication priorities.
• Monitor news cycles to identify proactive and rapid-response communication opportunities.
• Maintain media lists, editorial calendars, media monitoring tools, and a database of industry opportunities.
• Research and arrange speaking engagements, conferences, podcasts, executive awards, and thought leadership activities.
• Prepare submissions for awards and manage executive media opportunities.
• Collaborate with Brand, Medical Marketing, Research, Product, Social, and other cross-functional teams on integrated communication campaigns.
• Coordinate earned media efforts for campaigns, product launches, research publications, company announcements, and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor media coverage, sentiment, share of voice, and other performance metrics.
• Compile monthly reports and recommendations to enhance earned media effectiveness.
• 4–6 years of experience in media relations or public relations.
• Demonstrated success in securing national earned media across consumer, lifestyle, health, business, and technology outlets.
• Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media contacts.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Capability to craft engaging media pitches and press materials.
• Experience supporting executive thought leadership, including media interviews, speaking engagements, and award submissions.
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
• Proficient in managing multiple priorities at once.
• Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Background in healthcare, wellness, consumer technology, or another regulated industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with media monitoring and media database tools like Cision or Muck Rack is preferred.
• Residing in the New York City metropolitan area.
• Authorized to work in the United States, as confirmed through E-Verify.
