Media Relations Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Promote animal rights by securing media attention for PETA's initiatives.

• Manage outreach and communication with media contacts.

• Draft and distribute press releases while generating media coverage for PETA campaigns.

• Research and pinpoint suitable local and national media outlets and podcasts to feature PETA's efforts.

• Create innovative pitch concepts and refine press releases and pitches to enhance media visibility for PETA campaigns.

• Serve as PETA's representative to the media.

• Stay updated on PETA's projects and media coverage.

• Monitor local and national news stories, tracking those pertinent to PETA's campaigns.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

• At least two years of professional experience in public relations or the media sector.

• Willingness and capability to be on call and manage urgent press releases during weekends and evenings.

• Comprehensive understanding of animal rights issues and campaigns.

• Proven capacity to interact with diverse individuals in a professional manner.

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once.

• Established initiative and follow-through skills.

• Capable of making sound judgments and working independently.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities.

• Proven capacity to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to think strategically and creatively to achieve goals.
